However, despite being bittersweet the manga and novels show respect to the source material which is why people seem to be more receptive to them than AO or Hi-Evolution. The anime alone has a truly happy ending, the novels feel more dangerous and uncertain, but I think people can learn to love it.

To me this means theyll continue to live their lives normally now. Nirvash told Renton and Eureka to continue to live on and one day meet up again with Nirvash and everyone that was in their memories. Basically I just dont understand what happened. The novels are definitely a lot darker especially towards the end so keep that in mind. So i just finished watching Eureka Seven and the ending really confused me. It has the same kind of humor from the anime and I would argue its closer to the anime than the manga in how it feels. The novels are a nice read, you don't even need to know the anime to appreciate them either. I also find it interesting how Renton is pretty bad at Lifting throughout the novels and Eureka remains the one in the pilot seat most of the time. We understand him a lot more in the novels, we get some other perspectives on Anemone, and the twist with Eureka's parenthood is genuinely interesting even if its derivative. Meanwhile, Renton Thurston flew into the portal created by the Quartz Gun through time, has arrived at Ao's world which appears to embrace the Scub Coral he so desperately seeks to destroy. It is interesting to note that theEND's name alludes to the ending or Omega, and the Nirvash signifies the beginning as the first LFO.

I was fortunate enough to buy the set years ago, but most people simply don't have access to them to appreciate what they were.įor instance, I absolutely love how much time and depth is given to Dewey in the novels. Now Ao Fukai, son of Eureka and Renton Thurston is placed as the hero who took down the out of control Nirvash type TheEND and its accomplice Naru Arata. TheEND making an appearance in Eureka Seven:AO. After learning of their existence its a huge pain in the ass nowadays, they are out of print and exceedingly expensive to track a single volume down. When it comes to the light novels however, sadly I think it is because most of the community is barely aware they even exist at all. The manga is way shorter and the whole thing with the Scubs at the end is controversial on these forums, but I thought it was a tasteful gamble that paid off in the end since they respected the anime and the characters. All three have similar themes to each other, settings, cast, plot, etc. The light novels like the manga were written in parallel with the anime.
